Janine Stanton

I am Janine Stanton and I am the new Primary Special Education Learning Leader here at Riverway Learning Community!  I am very excited to begin the year and to expand my knowledge and experience with the Montessori way.

I grew up here in Winona and graduated from Cotter High School.  I continued my education and graduated from Winona State University in 2011 with my degree in Special Education - Learning Disabilities and Developmental Disabilities.

After graduation I became the Primary Counselor at Home and Community Options - Children’s Resource Home along with a Behavioral Aid in the Children’s Autism Therapy Program.  From there, I accepted a position in the Winona Area Public Schools as a Special Education Teacher - working with students with Learning Disabilities, along with being the Assistive Technology Consultant.  Continuing my adventure I accepted the Primary Special Education Learning Leader Position here at Riverway Learning Community.

Outside of school I can be found enjoying life with my wonderful husband, my daughter Kiyah (3) and my son Cashius (1).  I enjoy participating in 5K events that support a great cause, having game nights with my friends and family, and doing art and crafts activities such as painting, coloring, and crocheting.

I look forward to a phenomenal year here at Riverway Learning Community
