Enrollment Information

Riverway Learning Community is a charter public school and is therefore open to all students.  Importantly, we have unique programs that define who and what we are, so it is important that families not only want an alternative to the local district but specifically want the kind of education we provide.    

General Enrollment and Application Information

All interested families are invited to submit an application for enrollment. Enrollment is limited and when spots are available they are filled on a first come first served basis (outside the Open Enrollment period...see below). Students not admitted due to space limitations are placed on a waitlist once the below obligations are complete.

Application is a 4 step process as follows:
  1. Submit an application (available at the school or here).
  2. Attend an enrollment meeting with the Leader of Teaching and Learning (to be scheduled when application is submitted).
  3. Observe in the classroom (30-45 minutes).
  4. Admitted or placed on waitlist.

Open Enrollment for 2018-2019
January 15th - February 28th, 2018
All interested families are invited to submit an enrollment application during the open enrollment period - one for each child they wish to have attend Riverway.  These are available at the school and on-line starting on January 15th.

Enrollment Meeting
All interested families are required to attend one of two enrollment meetings, either on Tuesday, March 6th at 6:00 pm or Wednesday, March 14th, also at 6:00 pm.  This meeting is approximately 1 hour long and culminates with a tour of the school. Time will be available for Q & A.

It is critical that parents have the opportunity to observe in the classroom before making a commitment to send a child to the school.  Therefore, admission is contingent upon successfully completing an observation.  These may be scheduled when submitting an application or after attending an enrollment meeting and last for 30-45 minutes.

Lottery - admission or waitlist
If a greater number of applications are received than space available in any given grade, families will be notified and a lottery will be held on March 14th immediately after the enrollment meeting. This is a blind lottery and families are not required to be present during the lottery but are welcome to attend.
