Job Description

1.0 position that includes Math 7-12 (.5 FTE) and any other license placement (.5 FTE) for a full-time (up to 1.0 FTE ) placement. A math-only license is still a 1.0 placement. We will consider part-time placements...please reach out to inquire.

Mornings have an advisory/homeroom, middle school math, algebra, and geometry class. Class size limited to 24...so you see 75 students per day with multiple adults in each classroom for support.

Afternoons have creative electives each quarter that could be staffed with PE, music, foreign language, language arts, art, or any other license. PE is at the end of the day.

Qualifications

Math license 7-12 is required in the long-term; multiple licensed staff have the option of creative placements up to 1.0 FTE.

Math/PE, Math/Music, Math/Foreign Language or any other combination can be placed for a .5 to 1.0 placement. Call us to discuss in more detail.

Critical need for 3 morning classes in basic math, algebra, and geometry (.5) and a homeroom. Afternoon can be staffed with any other license...we would love PE/languages/ELA/etc.

SPED has a $5000 increase to base wage placement.

Outdoor or environmental interests are helpful. Dream position if you want to teach half a day and do outdoor education the other half!

Previous experience Working with this age group is beneficial.

Institution Description

Riverway Learning Community PreK-12 is a public charter school district with an environmental and outdoor education focus that has 3 schools at 2 locations in the heart of the driftless next to the Mississippi. We are on 10 acres with waterfront, canoes, bikes, outdoor equipment and a school forest with 160 acres and a camp within 10 minutes. We have our own bikes and vans for staff to take students off-site for education and enrichment.

This is a small school, community setting with 75 students in the secondary and class size limited to 24 that is supported by a fully-staffed SPED department and classroom assistants in each room.

This is an exceptional work environment with a great vibe and close staff who enjoy working here. We have an outdoor playground in the driftless for both educational and personal pursuits.
