Dear Riverway Community & Beyond,
If you are facing any form of food insecurity, please take a look at some of the resources available to you in Winona. This list is not comprehensive but it's a good place to start and highlights Winona's generosity.
Riverway Families,
Be on the lookout for an email from the school regarding additional resources the school can provide. Also, REMINDER, our food drive is in full swing to fill our school's food pantry and share with our Riverway Families! Please send non-perishables with your student if you are able.
"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." - Aesop

Leo joined Riverway recently and he's the kind of person people miss when he's not around. He's got great energy, jokes, and dance moves. He can't resist when good music comes on. What's more is, he really figured out the expectations in E2. He has finished all of his work the last few weeks, and he's worked hard to do it! We are lucky to have him in our class!!
Hudson, an inspiring senior who shines as a creative leader in our community. His imagination and dedication have brought new opportunities for connection and learning—most notably through the after-school club he founded and runs every Tuesday. Hudson’s leadership extends beyond the classroom; he mentors younger students with patience and positivity, always ready to lend a hand or share an encouraging word. He is friendly and welcoming to everyone he meets. Whether he’s helping others find their confidence or sparking new ideas through collaboration, Hudson reminds us that creativity paired with kindness can make a lasting impact.
Thank you, BOTH, for being wonderful humans!

Thank you for safely taking us to and from school and to all sorts of fun places. You have a difficult job; weather, traffic, behaviors, etc... but you show up every day with a smile. You are important and we are lucky to have you.
Love,
The Riverway Community

Students learning from students is an amazing thing.

Winona is a generous community.
Riverway extends a BIG THANK YOU to the Winona Community Foundation for awarding us a $5,450 Grant to produce a community-wide Earth Day event at our location on Saturday, April 25, 2026! We have so many ideas and are so thankful for the financial support to bring them to life. More details to come!

Ms. Susan is new to Riverway this year as a SPED Paraprofessional and we are so glad she chose us! She is ever ready with a smile and willing attitude, builds strong connections with her students and staff mates, and is up for any challenge. Here are just a few of the warm comments shared by staff and students:
¨She is there meeting us at the door every morning and saying Good Morning.¨ - Avery T.
¨Susan always greets staff and students. She shows up in big and small ways and we're so glad she’s here!¨ - Brianna H.

Thanks for being you, Ms. Susan. You make Riverwway a wonderful place to be. :)

*Dead fish polo started as a prank and evolved into a popular game at summer camps and paddle clubs. While the original prank may have used a REAL dead fish... rest assured... ours was not.

Jaelyn was nominated by Ms. Miranda for being incredibly hard-working, respectful, and responsible. She does the right thing even when no one is looking. She is independent and motivated, despite being in a brand new classroom. Jaelyn's overall attitude and energy is appreciated so much.
Tyler was nominated by Ms. Sharon for Tyler really showing what it means to live out our values of being respectful, peaceful, and safe. He is kind to everyone and makes our community stronger just by being part of it. We especially appreciate the calm and positive energy he brings into the classroom each day.
Thank you, both, for being good humans!
